The Wednesday afternoon market at Yorkmont took us by surprise. We got there at 1 pm and were sold out by 2 pm. We brought 50 bunches of collards, two 18 gallon tubs of Tuscan kale, and 22 dozen eggs. [...]

We attended our last farmer’s market of the year on Tuesday afternoon, December 22. It was somewhat of an odd market because we normally only attend that market on Saturday mornings. But bad weather last weekend prevented us from going, along with other local growers. We had customers wanting our greens and eggs for Christmas [...] No markets for us this Saturday. We will be starting at first light on Saturday to try and get 70+ lbs. of garlic planted before the rain that is forecast begins. I will be at Charlotte and Jenifer will not be at Matthews. Ellie got selected to play on her softball league’s all-star team from this area and the games begin Friday, hosted in Anson county, and go on Fri., Sat., Sun., and Mon. What will be available this week at Charlotte are eggs, green onions, arugula, and spicy greens. I will be at Charlotte. There are currently plenty of local eggs available at the Charlotte Market. Red Dirt Ranch, Grateful Growers, T&K Farms, Underwood Family Farms all have eggs. Geny Case has both chicken and duck eggs. She shares a space and rotates market duties with Bosky Acres, who have great goat cheese. |
