It is late and we have been waiting for our 11 year old Ellie to fall asleep again.
She has her suspicions about Santa since she found out that the tooth fairy leaving silver eagle dollars under her pillow was me.
I got my suspicions about Santa too but I am not 100% sure.

Ellie, I, and my neighbor Carl, drove 2+ hours to Ruthfordton and picked up 4 piglets Sunday. Ossawbaw/ Yorkshire and Ossawbaw/ Hampshire crosses. For breeding stock. We hope to have a good selection of fingerlings Saturday if we can get them out of the ground. We have been running full steam since late June, 6 days a week till dark with some work on Sundays. This time of year, we harvest Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tuesdays, we spend all morning packing up CSA bags and I leave by 2pm and get home around 9 pm. Saturdays, we pack up and [...] I will be at Charlotte and Jenifer will not be at Matthews. Ellie got selected to play on her softball league’s all-star team from this area and the games begin Friday, hosted in Anson county, and go on Fri., Sat., Sun., and Mon. I wish I had a better story to tell. I was in a fight, got knocked flat by my dad’s bull, the chickens attacked me or something. Last Thursday morning, Jenifer and I finished up planting the last of the potatoes in four 200′+ rows across the road and started back transplanting brassicas and lettuce from the greenhouse until dark. |
